I’ve been coming here for the last two years now and even though I’ve moved away, I’m still happy to make the 50 mile round trip to have my hair done by Shelley. Always leave loving my style and colour and you feel like you’ve spent a few hours nattering with friends. I won’t be looking for another hairdresser until Shelley retires - and I hope that’s no time soon! Big love to the whole team 💇‍♀️💖

Saw the TV program , couldn’t wait to book! Secured an appointment for a Wed afternoon!! Traveled 20 miles there 20 miles back as due to flooding there was a detour!! Arrived soaked and they didn’t have an umbrella stand- not even a bucket!! This is The Valley’s? I was really excited as a retired hair stylist , previously owning and running 2 successful salons for 30 years in my town!! However I can’t cut my own hair! Money isn’t the issue but a good cut is!! Staff , one with a washed out pink coloured hair, wearing a granny cardigan!! The other not even acknowledging my presence! A dog running around the salon!! A mediocre shampoo. Asked for silver shampoo. They didn’t have any! Asked if they could recommend a colour service as I wanted a change from my grey!! No they liked the colour as it was ! Asked if I could buy a silver shampoo to go. No they were out of stock? Shelley told me as soon as I was gone she would be having extensions put in her wet , tied back , messy hair!! This was obviously her rush to get me in and out!! I did have a cup of tea!! The salon was bare! Not a roller/ tongs/ perm rods / hood dryers / straightening irons/ brushes/ Velcro s /products etc in sight!!!!!!!!! I asked for a precision cut and a BIG BLOW DRY!!!! The blow dry was lame. No root lift! No body!! Not enough heat or tension on the hair to style it!! Not enough product even though I offered my own expensive high quality mouse from my bag as I explained I only like to style my hair weekly if it’s blown dry properly at the time!! Nothing. A quick swish!! No volume whatsoever. Even though i stressed I like BIG HAIR. I want people to say/ oh you’ve had your hair done!! Yes exactly!! So it was flattish!! However I felt that Shelley wanted to get going to start her on her own hair! So without hesitation I was charged £ 55:00!!!!! As soon as my gown was off Shelley was in my seat staring her own hair remodelling!! I needed to then visit Mc Aurthur / Glen!! As we all know it’s wet and windy mostly !! I looked in a mirror when passing and my GOD !! What a mess! I’ve since washed my hair. I can’t style it? The lines are wicked!! It’s difficult to express my disappointment! I wanted a complete make - over!! I got a real eye opener!! Remember today’s news - tomorrow’s chip paper!! I did find Shelley herself charming but as for my hair - A Disaster!! It will grow thankfully!! I

Went to the salon with a query, they were more than helpful, sorted out an issue for us with my daughters hair. Fantastic

I went here because it very near. I got charged £38 for a cut and blow dry on short hair. However o got 1 star service, the hairdresser was not interested in talking to me, to busy with her colleague and her regular client, I was not even asked if I would like coffee….felt very let down. I’ll find another hairdresser. Service: Hairstyling

Not one to usually write reviews but I'm so disappointed with the service I received from Shelleys Salon. I contacted them back in November 2021 asking if I could book them for hair and makeup for my wedding in May 2022. Was told the lady I needed to contact was on holiday and would ring me back. Weeks past so I rang back, she's on holiday again. They eventually rang early January and said their makeup artist no longer works there but they can book me in for hair. I was gutted as I'd waited ages to hear from them and they could have told me the first time I rang. The lady said she would contact the makeup artist and let me know if she would do a one off. Received an email to confirm 1 bridal hair, but had asked for bridal hair, Mother of the bride and 2 bridesmaids to have their hair done also. Weeks past again and the wedding getting closer I gave up waiting and reluctantly booked someone else (which was difficult with only 3 months to go). Eventually they rang in February and said they can do it. I said thanks but I've booked someone else now and got a sarcastic "thanks for letting us know". Sorry but you obviously didn't want my business. Weddings are stressful enough as it is, I didn't expect to wait 3 months to be able to book an appointment. Disappointing as I used this salon for general hair cuts and colour but will be finding someone else now.

Been going here for around 10 yrs or more. Always a really friendly, warm atmosphere and you ask for just a trim you don't lose half your hair! Fantastic colouring service too, been every colour of the rainbow thanks to Shelley 😁 (without ruining my hair) definitely recommend!
